About Me

"My Spinal Cord Needs Me"—this affirmation resonates deeply within me daily as I embrace positive self-affirmations, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.  

I am Sheeca Ganapathy, an emotional wellness counsellor with extensive experience spanning over a decade in the hospitality and retail sectors. This experience is complemented by nearly seven years dedicated to Emotional Wellness, during which time I have accrued approximately 1,000 hours in counselling services.

I hold diplomas in Counselling Skills, Psychotherapy, and Transactional Analysis, and I am committed to fostering a supportive environment through empathetic and compassionate listening. My counselling practice is firmly rooted in the Humanistic approach to therapy. I primarily employ Person-Centered Therapy by Carl Rogers and Transactional Analysis by Eric Berne. These methodologies empower my clients to fully articulate their feelings, make informed decisions, and recognize and alter lifelong behavioural patterns.  

My role is to guide them to master living in the present and facilitate a rejuvenated approach to emotional health. The foundational values of my practice are empathy, unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and self-responsibility.

Beyond individual counselling, I facilitate workshops for various groups, including corporate teams, military personnel, educational bodies, citizen forums, and geriatric centres. These workshops focus on the Life Skills recommended by the World Health Organization, aimed at enhancing self-awareness for improved decision-making, teaching emotional regulation to develop effective coping mechanisms, and fostering empathy and self-compassion.
