When we speak of health the one thing that comes to mind is overall well-being. Being healthy mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The old proverb rightly goes “Health is wealth”, if you have wondered or doubted if indeed health is wealth then do give this a thought again.
I often heard my dad say that one should maintain a good diet, exercise, pray and think good thoughts to stay healthy. As a child, I understood about food and exercise but frankly not much about the “pray and good thoughts”.
What is health?
The state of complete physical, mental, and spiritual well-being is called health. Health consists of maintaining the body and taking preventive measures to reduce the possibility of developing various diseases. Health is the body’s natural functional and metabolic efficiency to adapt to physical and mental changes the body is exposed to.
Having good health helps a person to perform their daily routine in a smooth manner.
The physical health of a person means the body is not affected by any disease whereas mental or social health is characterized by the ability of a person to accomplish various social tasks given to him.
What is the importance of health and leading a healthy life

Why Emphasis on Health?
In spite of knowing the importance of health, it is very challenging to maintain good health. Most often we ignore our health in one way or the other often not realizing that health doesn’t mean only one aspect. Having healthy people contributes to the nation’s development in many angles, this in turn leads to a beautiful and healthy world overall.
To lay emphasis on this simple yet complex requirement of health the WHO (world health organization) observes April 7th as the “world health day”. This year in 2023, will mark the 75thanniversary of world health day.
WHO’s 75th anniversary year is an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved the quality of life during the last seven decades. It is also an opportunity to motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today ̶ and tomorrow.
Even the United Nations has in its global goals marked the importance of “good health and well-being”.

Being mindful helps us manage these problems by making us thankful, centered, and connected. We do this by keeping our goals reasonable, appreciating what we have, spending less time on devices, taking care of ourselves, and eating thoughtfully. Routine habits like meditating, journaling, or active thinking can make our holidays more calm and satisfying. When we focus on being present and healthy, holidays become a time to think, connect with others, and create lasting memories.

This blog discusses how to build a strong, healthy relationship with a partner who shows avoidant behaviors, often stemming from past experiences. It’s important to remember that their withdrawal isn’t a reflection of you, but a protective mechanism. To foster a deeper connection, give them space, be patient, and focus on your own growth and well-being. Encourage honest communication without pushing too hard, and let intimacy develop naturally over time. It’s also essential to set healthy boundaries and practice detachment—releasing the pressure to control the outcome of the relationship. By being understanding, gentle, and consistent, you can create a space where both of you feel secure and valued
